Kindergarten Spring Program

Maddox had his Kindergarten Spring program last Friday. They are all supposed to dress up in the occupation that they would like to be whenever they grow up. They all then get a chance to introduce themselves and explain what they would like to be. Here's a video to show what Maddox chose:

They also sang a few songs. This one makes me cry every time I hear it.

The kids also did a song for Moms since Mother's Day was the following Sunday. Another tear jerker!

Spring brings...Baseball!

It feels like we've waited forever for spring to finally arrive. Well, it has finally arrived. Along with warmer weather, spring brings baseball to our house. Maddox is playing again this year. This is his third year to play and will be his last year in instructional ball. This year Brennen is also playing and is on the same team as Maddox. I am really happy about this. Baseball has never been my favorite sport to watch, and frankly watching 4,5, and 6 year-old kids play, doesn't add anything to the already ridiculously slow sport. But, I will give them this: They are so stinking cute!!

Here is Brennen all geared up for his first game!
Maddox all set for his debut as one of the "experienced" players!

My favorite players!
Maddox has been wanting to play catcher forever. Unfortunately, on the team he was one the past two years, the coach's son liked to play catcher, and there really wasn't any negotiating on this. However, Maddox got to this time, and he did a great job. I was so proud of him!
Maddox next at bat!

Brennen looks so small out there compared to the other kids. He had a great time. He still needs the tee, but when I think of all the improvement Maddox has made, I'm sure it'll come with time and practice.

He tries really hard!
The boys on the bench!!
Last, but most certainly not least, the world's cutest little cheerleader - Ella!

Easter 2010

Sorry these are so late, but here's at least a couple shots from Easter. It's beyond impossible to get a picture with all 5 where everybody looks good. I've given up!!
The baskets that the Easter Bunny brought that morning. Mommy loves Ella's Pottery Barn Kids Barbie!!

A new van for me...

I have to be honest and admit that I've been wanting a new van for quite some time. Not that I am not grateful for the van that we have, because I am. However, it definitely has it little "eccentricities," which were starting to wear on me. Bob and I agreed that we couldn't justify buying a new one though, when we had one that was still serving out family's needs. That was our plan. Then one day, Bob drove the car that I have had since I was a sophomore in college to work one day, and sitting in the parking lot at his office, it burst into flames!! A fire started in the fuse box. Needless to say, it was a goner. The pictures actually look a lot better than it looked in person.
After the smoke cleared, literally, we were left trying to decide what to do next. Do we buy Bob a new car or do we go ahead and buy me a new minivan? We decided it would be nice to have 2 vehicles that our entire family could fit in. So we spent the next day shopping and found this:
I have been wanting a Honda Odyssey for quite some time and now I have one!! I love it and the boys love the DVD player!

Isn't she beautiful? I call her "Honey". :-)

While buying a new vehicle was not in our plans, it is always amazing to see God working in our lives. This just happened to occur on the day that Bob received a bonus at work, Bob was not in the car when it caught fire, it didn't happen sitting in our garage, and nobody parked next to him! God is good all of the time!!!

I am not a very timely blogger!!

Wow!! I can't believe how behind I am on my blog. I totally skipped the whole month of April! So, here's a little of what we've been up to.

Caden turned 8!!! I cannot believe that my very first baby is now the big 8. Instead of having a party somewhere, Caden opted to have a sleepover with boys from his class. We had family and friends over the night before his birthday for cake, and did his sleepover 2 weeks later. Here's a couple shots.

I discovered that I am not the best sleepover kind of parent. It turns out that many boys under one roof is just WAY too much for me. Wonder why? Check this out:

I'm trying to talk Caden into some other kind of party for next year!!
